Since retirement, painting and photography have become a second life. These latent interests have always taken a backseat for Istvan until now, when a day without one or the other feels incomplete.

Istvan paints primarily in acrylics, acrylic/watercolours and some oil and has an enduring passion for photography. The latter, helps him capture and develop reference material for his paintings as well as explore his emotional response to the landscape in all seasons.

When not painting or rambling with camera and tripod, Istvan enjoys learning about art. His favourites number in the impressionists and expressionists from the 19th century to the present, which influence his approach to his own work.
