Daffodils

Acrylic, 12×16 on gallery wrap – $215

Throughout history, ancient to modern, daffodils have been associated with many things.

The connection I prefer is simply as a golden sign of spring.

In the height of British romanticism, William Wordsworth penned a poem celebrating these blooms and how they lifted his spirits, then and since. I particularly love the images he paints with his words – “… all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; … fluttering and dancing in the breeze’.

If you would like to read the full poem, it is well worth it, here’s a link : https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/45521/i-wandered-lonely-as-a-cloud

These two, I saw in a sheltered spot near Rockliff Park.

One voice in 7 billion. Insignificant. What if we all spoke at once? Ear-splitting!! What if we all stopped to listen? Maybe, compassion.
