Acrylic, 28×22 on gallery wrap – $680
Seems like spring is always a while coming. The weather forecast is periods of beautiful, mild and joyful, followed by disappointing periods of chill, called “seasonal” by the weatherman, as if that will make it easier to take. When finally when the warmer weather sets in, the race is on. Buds burst on trees vying to grab their share of the light. The blossoms open almost all at once, competing for pollinators to come help themselves to the nectar and thereby spread the pollen on their way so new growth can happen.
In this short space of time the colours are pale compared to summer. The contrast is brilliant with whites, lime greens and lemon yellows set against bleached straw and coffee blacks.
This scene is a view from a quiet road side. Nature has been left alone to be. No human priorities for neatness or utility have disturbed this spot which is largely the charm.
