Mazinaw Pine

Acrylic, 16×12 on gallery wrap – $220

Thinking about images of pines by Group of Seven artists: A.J. Casson, and Arthur Lismer, this image was based on a photo taken on Lake Mazinaw, another area visited by them where they painted their stunning views of Bon Echo Rock. The characteristic “flagging” of the trees as they bend away from the prevailing winds on this lake, shows their stress, struggle, strength and above all, endurance in the face of nature’s forces.

The scene brings back wonderful family memories of summers spent on and in the lake.

One voice in 7 billion. Insignificant. What if we all spoke at once? Ear-splitting!! What if we all stopped to listen? Maybe, compassion.
