Despite the roller coaster weather, the ground is steadily warming and the snow melt is underway. In early December, the first snows are exciting and invigorating. By March, the joy has worn off and those inevitable spring storms are more than a little discouraging. On glorious mild days in full sun, like this was, its a new kind of excitement – the promise of a fresh new season. Water is trickling, cascading and rushing everywhere. Mini-waterfalls and streams which will be gone in another month. The best thing about seasons is the brief period that is the change.
