Fall Quiet, Petrie

With the summer heat and the insects gone; with the geese getting ready to go, some already left; with the beaches closed and the picnickers packed up and gone home, the in between season is underway. Save for a few dedicated fishermen and fall walkers, the place is quiet, especially on rainy overcast days.

It feels somehow restful. Our perspective of course. As far as nature is concerned, its a busy time of preparation for the cold months ahead.

A muskrat only visible by the wake it leaves heads home. Much else remained hidden that day.

One voice in 7 billion. Insignificant. What if we all spoke at once? Ear-splitting!! What if we all stopped to listen? Maybe, compassion.
