A quiet walk under a brilliant canopy

Middle of a January polar vortex but my mind is still in October mild weather. Fall is a favourite with its burst of colour, especially the mild days when walks like this are calm and peaceful. Hear the crunch of the leaves underfoot and smell the rich scent of the leaves turning into mulch. After the buzzy, busy summer, fall is a brief respite. Its a time to linger on days like this and reflect on another year coming to an end.

This will be the last of my fall pictures for now. On to beautiful winter … brrr.

One of those warm fall days that for a short time stave off the inevitable approach of winter. A time to enjoy the likely last sweet temperatures until the spring a new year away. Days tinged with missed opportunities to appreciate the summer more, all the while forgetting the heat that made being out in it challenging.
