Beneath the Dunlop Falls, Gatineau Park

Gatineau park, particularly in the fall is a perennial favourite. This view of Fortune Creek below the Dunlop falls is a little spot of wild easily accessible from the parking lot. If you have the knees, the trek up to the falls with the drama of the cascading water is also rewarding. Down hear the water is beginning to settle down and relax which is a cue for us too. The colours and smells in the fall are best of all.

I really enjoyed exploring the gouache medium and am eager to try more.

I will also paint this scene again in acrylics which is what I’m more used to.

Backroad in the green

When I saw this photo on Pixabay (https://pixabay.com/photos/forest-pathway-lush-greenery-8684668/ ).

I had to try to capture the fresh, quiet feel of this backroad.

My rendition is as much a scene from the backroads in my mind, vague memories of cottage days, spring, fresh air and optimism … easy to dream back in the studio with no mosquitoes, LOL.
