Waterlilies, Koi and Sky

A beautiful garden pond. This small world of water is home to koi and frogs and likely a good population of mosquitoes. Luckily they don’t enjoy the sunny midday heat when I visited this spot. The pond supports a selection of aquatic plants. Because of the gardener’s efforts, the waterlilies thrive and are the star of the show. Given the right conditions, these plants will produce flowers for many years but each bloom will only last a few days, good reason to stop and pause and appreciate their brief moment in the sun. 

The sky reflected in the pond is like a moving picture show. 

Tall Horizon

This is at a spot near the pavilion in Rockcliffe Park. It was a beautiful mild spring day. Only a few people out on this quiet Sunday morning. The tall Scots Pines and the skies over Gatineau were evocative of a light spaciousness. You can almost smell the fresh air perfumed by the pine mulch.
