Dandelions and Violets

Acrylic, 14×11 on gallery wrap – $180

For the briefest time in May there is an explosion of colour as wildflowers of all kinds break open inviting pollinators to come and drink at each bloom. I wonder do they know the service they are providing as they pick up and drop off pollen around the neighbourhood?

Humans in their ignorance and arrogance assume nature dumb – a mechanistic view of the universe. Yet, research is beginning to reveal that there is much more going on then we assumed. A favourite example is how trees communicate with one another via the mycelium network and even use it to feed other trees needing support.

Philosophy aside, the colourful spread is just pure joy.

Mischief and Itch

Acrylic, 22×28 on gallery wrap – $680

This is a piece we’ve kept to ourselves for a while and enjoyed. It is time we moved these two beautiful young Holsteins to a new home. When I passed by the entire heard came to the fence. These two were particularly delightful. Clearly besties, they nudged close to each other. One is scratching an itch on the barbed wire, while the other is licking the angle iron fence post.
