Fall is a season of eye candy in our northern climes. With the chlorophyl going, going, gone; the leaves are showing their true riotous colours. It is a bitter sweet joy and it can’t be said they “do not go gentle into that good night” (Dylan Thomas). Far from “rage against the dying of the light”, it feels like joy and acceptance, which I feel is as it should be. There’s a lesson in this, but days like this are a call to pause and appreciate the show and that we have the eyes to see it.
