Summer took off like an inferno this year – from snow melt and promising temps to hot hot hot. Like the old adage says: be careful what you ask for. The temps eased just as fall days started to appear. In this piece, the frost has not happened yet so the leaves were still busy converting light into sugar. The ground is littered with last year’s drop, a rustle under foot and a rich mulch blanket. I emphasized the yellow to suggest the warm glow on mild days this time of year.
