Rest a while, breathe

Fall is the time for walks – leisurely walks. On a sunny day, what better way to experience the calm, almost a relief after the intensity of summer. This time of year there are fewer insects after your blood which means you can relax and take in the colours, the smells and the quiet.

Boardwalks let you get right up close with nature – easy to navigate and at the same time protecting the environment from foot traffic. We are lucky to have the green belt with areas such as the Mer Bleue sphagnum peat bog and the Stony Swamp wetland and more besides.

Time and place to pause and as the old saying goes: “stop and smell the roses”. The bench in this piece is for just that.

One voice in 7 billion. Insignificant. What if we all spoke at once? Ear-splitting!! What if we all stopped to listen? Maybe, compassion.
